ABOVE: I purchased two blue Mexican folk art chairs from Sol Imports for my kitchen but I didn't like the angel design on the top so I repainted it with marigolds and roses and added some more floral designs and color. I'm in the process of making cushions. On the right is a chest of drawers I purchased some time ago for extra clothing. It now holds my paint stained things and art supplies.
|
TO THE LEFT and below: the new color scheme for my lower kitchen cabinets. I used commercial stencils for the flowers but wanted to do something more folkloric for part of it so used one of my plastic papel picado banners as a stencil for the birds

First I stencil the design in white acrylic paint, then fill in with the colors I want to use. In the cast of the papel picado stencil, I used the hot pink to go with the face of the cabinet doors. |
