HOUSE NORTHWEST MEX

BATHROOM:

Originally done with seagrass wallpaper and cedar bathtub surround including tub top: bad idea. We had to tear out the floor and the whole tub surround and build a new subfloor and a tile tub surround. The butterfly tiles are copied by me from Laurel Burch's Kindred Spirits book of quilt patterns. They work well for painted images too!

I also found this wonderful and unusual Talavera mirror on eBay. I think it must have been a commission that wasn't collected because I've never seen another like it.

My friend didn't have time to help me finish the trim and we had decided tiles were too difficult without the right equipment, so I hand painted the boards around this little inset self set to match my new mirror.
