GALLERY 5 THE MERMAID'S NEW CLOTHES
Before
After

This wonderful mermaid bead by LandSarts presented a challenge. The first beads I strung for her strap from rose flattened drops and turquoise disks made a striking strap but almost overpowered the focal. The photo does not do her justice. Her hair is amber and her body and tail are shades of amber and rose shadowing into purple. The background is actually a brilliant rose sunset, a turquoise sea, and green seaweed. The first strap was great but it lacked the amber and subtler shadings of the bead so I restrung it with greeny turquoise drops, citrine and amber chips, and red to citrine lampwork beads I'd collected from other artists.
