FAUX BARB CARROLL PURPLE KACHINA
Barbara Ann Carroll is one of my bead idols, particular my cab bead idol. Not only is she great with color but she does wonderful things with shaping around a simple single cab. One of the things she does is this kachina headdress shape which she then stripes around in all the cab colors--in this case different purples. If she had done it it would have been better but this was my attempt. I'm not sure what the central stone is called thought I knew at one time. It's purple, which is what counts. The drops at the bottom of the fringe are amythest. Pearls happen and a beaded silver bale, also a characteristic of Barbara's cabs. I was very sneaky and for a time listed some of her pieces on eBay for her just to get a chance to study them. They're much better than my attempts. Probably her cats are better beaders than my cats is why.
