Gallery 3 Cabochon Work, Designed and Beaded by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough

CHARLENE'S CHRISTMAS CAB SET
Charlene Hughes of Renton, WA (Not Charley (Betty Boop) Hughes the bead pattern designer, is the first bead buddy I made in my local area. She and I have exchanged emails for years and she and her bead group beaded many of the designs in BEADTIME STORIES for me. Although I've made beaded gifts for other friends, I had never made one for Charlene before. But this Fall, when she created a gorgeous butterfly necklace with monarch butterflies in graduated sizes, she used one leftover butterfly to make me a gorgeous pin and then made earrings for me to match. ZNot to be outdone, I decided to make her something as well. While I was working on earring projects for other people, she commented that SHE liked gold and SHE liked pink and it was even better with purple! I knew that she also admires a modern edge to some beadwork, so I decided to bead her a set around dichroic cabochons. The pictured in the necklace is by Beth Norton of Tigerlily Tiles, who sells on eBay.
