BOTSWANA AGATE NECKLACE
I love looking at Botswana Agate. It's very soothing somehow. I made this necklace using different sizes of Botswana Agate beads I had and a cab and found that the pink of the rose quartz crystals blended beautifully with the soft browns, grays, and pale coraly pinks in the stone.
UPDATE Dec.30 2007. I started to wear this necklace with a favorite winter sweater and realized I had never made earrings for it so I corrected that oversight with the ones in the pic above. It's sure hard finding the same beads you used on a project five or six years ago, or replacing the ones you've since run out of with something new. I swear I spend half the time a new project takes finding the beads I know are around someplace. And I organize and reorganize my beads more than anything else. Since my new all-in-one scanner takes less sharp pix than the old one, I will include a larger version of the new picture with the earrings. I also restrung the necklace, since the old stringing material had stretched and was cutting into the back of my neck.I used lots of Botswana agate and rose quartz stone beads on the strap making it pretty heavy.
