Dragon Needlebook and Scissors Case
Though the dragon design on the case is mine, the needlebook and scissors case was made from a pattern by Jane Davis and is shown on the cover of The Art of Seed Beading by Elizabeth Gourley, Jane Davis, and Ellen Talbot. Quite some time ago Sue Harrison took a class in making this case from the designer. We were in a bead swap together and she made me one like the one on the cover of the book. It sports a monogram. When I saw it, I thought it would be a great shape to put a dragon's head on, so when I needed to do a gift for Brenda Whitehead, I decided to try combining my dragon design with Jane's needlebook and scissors case. The pattern for the dragon himself is made as a jewelry set pattern on B-P.com. If you want to make one like this, you will need to get the Art of Seed Beading and follow Jane's directions while putting in my dragon's head from the pattern on B-P.com. You're on your own there because the scissors case/needlebook pattern and instructions belong to Jane Davis. Only the dragon face and scaly bits are mine.
